Pitcairn on the northern edge of Glenrothes is the gateway to the Lomond Hills, a great space to explore with all the family.
This walk takes you up to the hill fort on the summit of East Lomond. with fine views towards the Firth of Forth and the Pentland Hills beyond. On your way up the hills look out for Buzzards and Short Eared Owls.
Mainly well made paths and self-closing gates. Steps at river crossing and path is liable to be muddy in some areas after rain.

This walk takes you past the newly planted native woodland of Pitcairn, planted to encourage red squirrels then to the diverse habitat and wildlife haven of Coul Den.
A short route on compacted well surfaced paths with some narrow sections. A short steep section of steps and a stone stile on the way.
